CASUALTY ADVICE – ASIA PEARL IV – Grounding

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel ASIA PEARL IV, a Singapore flag, 2010 built, 22,402gt bulk carrier, laden with 30,000 tons of sugar, which ran aground off Mendanau Island, Indonesia while on a voyage from Thailand to Indonesia.

We understand that the vessel loaded at Sriracha,Thailand, in the last week of April and was scheduled to discharge the cargo at Merak, Indonesia, on 3rd May.

It is reported that ASIA PEARL IV remains firmly aground and vessel owners have contracted Salvors, PT Samudera Mbianti Sesami and SMIT Land Marine Engineering (Far East) Pte Ltd., under Lloyd’s Open Form. It is also likely that General Average will be declared.
