CASUALTY NOTICE – TINA I

CASUALTY NOTICE

Incident Date: 22nd Nvemer 2020

Vessel: TINA I

IMO No. 9267156

Type: Fully Cellular Containership

Incident: Grounding

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel “TINA I”, a 204 built 66,332gt Fully Cellular Containership which ran aground near Batu Berhanti in the Singapore Straights 22nd November 2020.

It is understood that the Vessel was en-route from Singapore to Jakarta, Indonesia, with some 5,576 TEU of containerized cargo onboard and that she is engaged on a rotational voyage between Korea, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. As these ports involve significant transshipment operations it is likely that international cargoes will have been affected.

Local video footage suggests that the “TINAI” is listing heavily and resting next to the Vessel “SHAHRAZ” which has been grounded at the same location since May 2020 (please see W.E. Cox casualty notice dated 11th May 2020).

It is anticipated that professional Salvors will be appointed and that General Average will be declared.

W. E. Cox Claims Group are actively investigating the incident and once a decision is made on re-floating the “TINA I” and date and location for potential discharge is known we will update our clients further along with demands for Salvage and General Average security once determined.

W. E. Cox Claims Group are perfectly placed to assist in arranging surveys, adjusting potential losses, providing Salvage and/or General Average Security, as well as undertaking recovery. In this regard if we can be of assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.
