Further to our previous advice, dated 22nd April 2020, concerning an incident involving the vessel MSC MICHAELA, we have learned that the voyage has now been abandoned and General Average declared.

There are three carriers involved in this incident: MSC, Maersk and Hamburg SUD. MSC themselves have offered to post securities on behalf of their customers, including all cargoes carried under MSC bills of lading. Average Adjusters Richards Hogg Lindley, Liverpool, are collecting GA security where applicable.

We are awaiting copies of notices issued by Maersk and Hamburg SUD, together with full details of General Average security requirements.

Meanwhile, we have received instructions to represent substantial cargo interests onboard and are commencing investigations into the casualty.
