Group Board & Company Structure
The W.E. Cox Claims Group remains 100% family owned, and despite the growth since it's humble beginning, retains a small but strong Group Board; assisted by Directors of the individual Group companies:
David joined the W.E. Cox Claims Group in 1981 having previously worked in the Underwriting room at Lloyds’ of London. David has been at the “helm” since his father’s retirement in 1998 and has thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of expanding and diversifying the company on the solid foundations laid by his Father.
David enjoys travelling to maintain and establish new relationships with clients around the world, together with the responsibilities of managing a case load as he still enjoys negotiating claims with opponents both in “face to face” meetings and in correspondence.
Michael joined the Recoveries Team in 2003 and is a Director of W.E. Cox & Co. (Recoveries) Ltd, managing the City of London office. Michael was appointed to the Group Board in September 2015.
Michael has extensive knowledge of all cargo matters and the various national and international conventions covering movements by sea, air, road and rail, and works on behalf of Insurers and brokers, as well as directly on behalf of large cargo owners. Michael is a confident negotiator and regularly attends settlement meetings with Carriers/P&I Clubs.
Michael also travels around the world to meet the needs of international clients whilst maintaining a significant presence in the London Market.
Ching started her career in Finance working for a major Chinese bank in London where she gained experience and qualifications in bookkeeping, reporting to the Financial Controller.
In 2002, Ching joined the W.E. Cox Claims Group as an Account's Assistant to the Financial Director. In 2005, Ching was appointed as Accounts Manager, overseeing the Group's Accounts Department.
In 2012, Ching was appointed as Company Secretary of all the companies within the W.E Cox Group, and still retains responsibility for the Accounts Department as Accounts Manager.
Ching holds qualifications within the ACCA, and is a registered Certified Accounting Technician.
