EXPANSION AND THE FUTUREThe W E Cox Claims Group is extremely pleased to announce the employment of Gordon Blyth Jnr, with effect from 8th June 2009. After leaving university with a BA(Hons) degree, Gordon studied law for four years, gaining further legal qualifications including a Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and Legal Practice Court (LPC). Gordon has since moved into the insurance industry as a Financial Ombudsman dealing with disputes under insurance contracts currently adjudicating on insurance fraud cases. Gordon brings legal experience and expertise to the rapidly expanding team within W E Cox Claims Group where he will be responsible for developing his recovery expertise and knowledge, whilst also gaining experience in all aspects of Marine Claims. Gordon is a welcome addition to a young dynamic team, and continues the family values which enhance the personal service that W E Cox Claims Group is proud to provide to its valued clients. In addition, the W E Cox Claims Group is proud to announce that Mr Steven Dance will be joining the Recoveries Division of the Group (W E Cox & Co (Recoveries) Limited on the 1st June 2009. Steven started his career in the UK Head Office of a famous French Shipping Company in 1979 and brings with him a wealth of technical ability and experience. Having previously worked for a shipping line, Lloyds Claims Office and an International Claims and Recovery Agent, Steven has some 30 years experience of dealing with all types of recovery issues, regularly negotiating claims with ship owners, P&I Clubs, Road & Rail Carriers, and Insurance Companies. Steven has extensive knowledge of CMR, Hague Rules / Hague Visby Rules, Charter Party Disputes, Reefer & Bulk Cargoes, and has recently specialised in Yacht and Collision subrogation. Steven will be based in our City of London office at 6 Lloyds Avenue responsible for dealing with all recovery matters and assisting in the development and training of the staff within the recoveries division. Further, The W E Cox Claims Group is extremely pleased to announce that Mr Paul Friett has joined the Claims and General Average and Salvage division of the Group. Paul brings with him a wealth of experience having been involved in the marine insurance industry for in excess of 25 years, joining the Group from a senior position within a leading global insurer. Paul originally started working for an Aviation Broker, before joining a major international insurer in their marine claims department. Paul has experience in dealing with all types of marine cargo losses, including coordination of major catastrophe losses and project matters. Whilst Paul dealt with cargo claims from notification to conclusion, he was also responsible for General Average and Salvage matters. Paul will be responsible for all cargo matters and General Average and Salvage, as well as providing development training to the Group.
