Marine Claims Adjuster

Accountable for handling marine cargo claims, the candidate will actively support the department in providing a customer focused, cost-efficient claim handling service with a pro-active approach to claim handling which puts customer service as a core value whilst operating within a specified framework.

The role will be client facing, predominantly via email, telephone and Microsoft Teams, reviewing policy coverage, claim quantification and negotiation.

Interactions will be with insurers, brokers, insureds, and external providers.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Handle and investigate claims within an authority limit.
  • Demonstrate accurate and timely reserving in accordance with company standards & procedures.
  • Deal with claimants and their representatives pro-actively and effectively ensuring the best outcome of claim.
  • Demonstrate principles of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF).
  • Ensuring the Department’s Key Performance Targets are met and objectives are achieved.
  • Promote compliance with best practice for all aspects of claims assessment and handling.
  • Support and work closely within the claims team on an ongoing basis and providing feedback on claims issues, wording and market trends.
  • Identify and review suspect/fraudulent claims in line with company requirements.

Candidates will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in handling marine cargo claims including an understanding of the end-to-end claims procedures and process within an insurance environment.
  • Ability to make the right decisions on claim assessment and assessing the need for investigation.
  • Communication skills with the ability to make an informed decision on a case/scenario and the ability to convey that message or information both in writing and verbally.
  • Self-motivation and proactive, taking individual responsibility for an allocated case load & working within a structured team.

Location – London or Manchester plus part working from home.

Senior support engineer to join a small IT team to provide service and support globally

35-hour week, full time position, with a mixture of home and office working. Possibility of unsociable working hours to provide support of overseas offices, this will be agreed in advance with the IT & Communications Director

Ideal previous experience of Second/Third Line support.

Skills required:

Knowledge in Microsoft online services including Azure/Intune and Office 365 Administration
