We have learned of an incident involving the Vessel AGRIA, a Malta flag, 2010 built, 33,044gt bulk carrier.

The vessel is reported to have experienced an explosion in Hold No. 5 shortly after departing port at Rio Grande, Brazil, laden with 52,500 tonnes of wheat, bound for Chittagong and Mongla, Bangladesh.

AGRIA has returned to Rio Grande for inspections / assessment of damage.
