You may be aware of an incident involving the vessel AMANDA, a Liberia flag, 1997 built, 27,681gt Bulk Carrier, on a laden voyage with cargoes from China and Vietnam to Egypt, Turkey, Italy and Tunisia.
The vessel experienced main engine breakdown west of the Maldives. Unable to effect the necessary temporary repairs at sea, shipowners hired tug RESOLVE GLADIATOR to tow AMANDA into Male, arriving 12th August 2015.
General Average has been declared and security is required to facilitate release of cargo.
