Casualty Update - Ever Forward - GA Declared

Incident: Grounding – General Average Declared
Further to our previous advice regarding the grounding of the EVER FORWARD, a Hong Kong flag, 112,836gt, 2020 built, fully cellular containership which ran aground off the coast of Gibson Island in Chesapeake Bay, we can advise that following the failed re-floating attempts this week the Vessel Owners have declared General Average.
As a result of the General Average declaration GA securities will be required before cargo can be delivered.
W.E. Cox are already instructed on behalf of a number of cargo interests and are in direct communication with the appointed GA Adjusters, Richards Hogg Lindley.
