Type:                   Fully Cellular Containership

Incident:             Grounding – General Average Declared

Further to our previous updates regarding the grounding of the EVER FORWARD, a Hong Kong flag, 112,836gt, 2020 built, fully cellular containership which ran aground off the coast of Gibson Island in Chesapeake Bay, we can advise that following more than one month of dredging operations and the removal of 505 containers the EVER FORWARD was successfully re-floated 17th April 2022.

The vessel has been towed to anchorage for underwater inspection, following which she is expected to return to Baltimore before continuing her voyage.

A reminder that as a result of the General Average declaration, GA securities will be required before cargo can be delivered, including cargo in containers that may be lightered.
