Casualty Update - EVER LENIENT - Fire - GA Declared

Further to our initial advice regarding a fire on board the EVER LENIENT, a U.K. Flag, 99,995GT, 334.8m, 9,226TEU, 2014 fully cellular containership, we now understand that General Average (GA) has been declared and Sedgwick International (Sedgwick Global Marine Specialty) have been appointed to collect GA security.
We further understand that about 34 containers have been damaged by fire and about 200 containers have been damaged by water.
Given the above, Cargo interests will need to provide GA Security prior to cargo being onshipped and/or released at destination.
