Casualty Update - KMTC SURABAYA collision with GLENGYLE

Incident Date:    25th April 2025

Vessels:                KMTC SURABAYA c/w GLENGYLE

IMO Nos.:           9821081 & 9727285

Types:                  Fully Cellular Containership & Bulk Carrier

Incident:             Collision

W.E. Cox have been appointed by Cargo interests (in relation to cargo part laden on the GLENGYLE) and our investigation to date reveals that the owners of the GLENGYLE have declared General Average and have appointed Richards Hogg Lindley as the average adjusters.

We also understand that Salvors (SMIT Salvage Pte Ltd) have been engaged (by the owners of the GLENGYLE) to provide assistance on LOF terms and that the Salvage services are ongoing.

Given the above, Cargo interests will need to provide both Salvage and General Average Security prior to cargo being released at destination.
