Further to our initial report in relation to the above captioned incident it has been reported that the Owners and Operators of the DALI, have filed a petition in the Federal Court of Maryland to limit their liability for claims arising from the allision with the Francis Scott Key Bridge to US$43.7m, being the estimated value of the DALI after Salvage and repair costs.

Whilst operations to free the DALI have commenced it is not yet known when they will be completed and Owners have not advised if they will be declaring General Average. It is understood however, that damage to the DALI is significant and owners of sound cargo will continue to face significant delays in delivery.
