Incident:            Fire

 

Further to our recent report of an incident involving a fire onboard ZIM CHARLESTON, off Colombo, Sri Lanka, we understand that GA has now been declared and that formal requests for GA security will be issued shortly.

Meanwhile, charterers have confirmed that a fire tore through ZIM CHARLESTON in the Indian Ocean two weeks ago, and that the vessel will remain moored at Colombo during initial investigations into the circumstances of the casualty.
