GORTYNIA (IMO: 9702584) / DZ QINGDAO (IMO: 9116656)

We have learned of an incident involving a collision between vessels GORTYNIA and DZ QINGDAO, in the Singapore Straits.

GORTYNIA is a Malta flag, 2015 built, 93,297gt bulk carrier, on a laden voyage from Saldanha Bay to Singapore, carrying a cargo of iron ore.

DZ QINGDAO is a Liberia flag, 1996 built, 27,763gt bulk carrier, en route from Tianjin to Port Klang.

Both vessels sustained serious damages and proceeded to the Singapore Anchorage.
