HANJIN AQUA

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel HANJIN AQUA, a Panama flag, 2013 built, 51,032gt fully cellular containership, ran aground off Sangiang Island, Indonesia, on a laden voyage from Australian ports to Jakarta.

The vessel developed a portside list and her hull was breached.

HANJIN AQUA remains hard aground and Salvors SMIT are negotiating to provide services under Lloyd’s Open Form. It is anticipated that lightering operations involving offloading of some 300 containers might be necessary to refloat the vessel.
