HYUNDAI BRIDGE / No 107 DAEYANG

We have learned of an incident involving the vessels HYUNDAI BRIDGE, a 1998 built 21,611gt Fully Cellular Containership and No 107 DAEYANG, a 1993 built 2,496gt general Cargo, which collided 2.3 miles south east of Mog Do Island, off Busan.

The bow of No107 DAEYANG came into contact with and holed portside of HYUNDAI BRIDGE causing oil leak of reportedly 335 tons heavy fuel oil.

HYUNDAI BRIDGE IS on a voyage from Nakhodka, Kozmin & Vostochny in Russia, and having recently departed Busan, Korea, was bound for Ulsan.

HYUNDAI BRIDGE will berth at Busan to discharge all its cargo for dry-docking.

It has yet to be determined if salvage services were provided, or whether the incident gave rise to a General Average declaration that may warrant security, but should insurers determine that they are involved with cargo on board and W.E.
