MELL SPRINGWOOD

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel MELL SPRINGWOOD, an Antigua & Barbuda flag, 2011 built, 16,137gt fully cellular containership, on a voyage from Honolulu to Marshall Islands, having previously called at ports in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan.

It is reported that MELL SPRINGWOOD ran aground on a coral reef off Ebeye Island, as a result of which, shipowners engaged Salvors under commercial contract.

The vessel was successfully refloated and continued her voyage after discharging cargo destined for Ebeye.

Shipowners have declared General Average and appointed Adjusters to collect security.
