We have learned of an incident involving the vessel “MERETE MAERSK”, a 2014 built 194,849gt fully cellular containership.

It is understood that having previously called at Chinese and Malaysian ports the Vessel encountered stormy weather in the Mediterranean and lost at least 43 containers. A further 85 containers are anticipated to have been damaged.

The Vessel was scheduled to call into various North European ports however we understand that she is currently berthed at Algeciras for a full assessment of damages.
