New Casualty – AELOS – LOF Salvage & GA

W.E. Cox have been instructed by cargo interests following an incident involving the Vessel “AEOLOS”, a 2001 built 19,882gt Bulk Carrier which suffered rudder failure causing her to drift out of control northeast of Cape Maleas, Greece, 6th January 2020.

The Vessel was fully laden with steel cargoes being shipped from Turkey to Argentina when she encountered difficulties. Professional Salvors have been instructed under LOF terms and Vessel Owners have declared General Average.

The Vessel is currently anchored in Greece awaiting inspection. W.E. Cox have retained experts to attend on board and are in discussion with Vessel Owners P&I, Salvors Representatives and GA Adjusters.
