Incident Date:    20th July 2023

Vessel:                ANGEL

IMO No.             9256406

Type:                  Containership

Incident:            Water Ingress & Listing

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel ANGEL, a Palau Flag containership, which reported suffering water ingress resulting in a heavy port side list outside of Kaohsiung Port, Taiwan. A number of containers have been lost overboard and the crew have been evacuated whilst Salvors attempt to save the Vessel.

The container vessel with a capacity of 1,262teu had previously sailed from India calling at Colombo, Hong Kong and Dalian. As a result of this incident it is highly likely that there will be delays to cargo delivery, cargo damages and cargo owners might be required to provide securities before delivery of cargo.
