Vessel:                CARAVOS LIBERTY

IMO No.             9653795

Type:                   Bulk carrier

Incident:             Grounding

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel CARAVOS LIBERTY, a Marshall Islands  flag, 35,812 gt, 2013 built, bulk carrier, which ran aground on 3 September 2023 near the Indonesian coast approximately 50NM south of Balikpapan.

The bulk carrier with a capacity of 63,500t DWT is operated by Iason Hellenic Shipping Co Ltd and had previously called at Yantai, Luoyuan and Zhapu before sailing to Muara Berau. As a result of this incident it is highly likely that there will be delays to cargo delivery and cargo owners might be required to provide securities before delivery of cargo.
