New Casualty – Ever Forward – Grounding

We have learned that the vessel EVER FORWARD, a Hong Kong flag, 112,836gt, 2020 built, fully cellular containership has run aground off the coast of Gibson Island in Chesapeake Bay.

The 12,000 teu ultra large containership which serves Evergreen’s AUE shuttle service between the East Coast of the USA and Asia had just departed Baltimore when she ran aground. Having previously called at Savannah, she was scheduled to call at Norfolk, New York, Panama, Xiamen, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong and Yantian.

It is understood that numerous tugs are in attendance however, given the nature of the incident professional Salvors may be required to re-float the vessel with the potential for Salvage and/or General Average securities being required before cargo can be delivered.
