We have learned of an incident involving the vessel RUEN, a Malta flag, 27,781gt, 2016 built, bulk carrier which was reportedly boarded by armed pirates 14th December 2023.

The fully laden vessel was sailing from Korea and Singapore towards Turkey when the incident occurred, and it is understood that the crew have lost control of the vessel which is now headed for headed for Somalia.

As a result of this incident there will be delays to cargo delivery and cargo owners might be required to provide securities before delivery of cargo.
