NEW CASUALTY – SINAR SOLO c/w TAHO AUSTRALIA

We have learned of an incident involving a collision between the vessels SINAR SOLO (Singapore) and TAHO AUSTRALIA (Liberia) in the Singapore Strait off Lagoi, northern Bintan Island.

SINAR SOLO, IMO 9320049, is a Singapore flag, 1999 built, 12,531gt fully cellular containership, en route from Belawan, Indonesia, to Singapore.

TAHO AUSTRALIA, IMO 9846067, is a Liberia flag, 2019 built, 43,900gt bulk carrier, en route from Singapore to Xiuyu, China, having previously called at India and Brazil.

SINAR SOLO sustained damage at starboard in the main deck area and several containers were damaged or lost overboard. The vessel was anchored near the incident site and shifted to Singapore Anchorage on 7th May, before proceeding into port on 18th May.

TAHO AUSTRALIA experienced only superficial damages and was allowed to resume her voyage.
