We have learned of an incident involving the vessel SUOU, a Japan flag, 11675 gt, 2019 built, vehicle carrier which struck an underwater rock and experienced water ingress while en route from Hakata to Iwakuni, Japan. The crew was rescued and the abandoned vessel was towed to Yashiro Island.

The vessel with a capacity of 233 cars is operated by Mitsui OSK Lines and previously called at Hakata port in Japan where approximately 100 cars had been loaded.

As a result of this incident it is highly likely that there will be delays to cargo delivery and cargo owners might be required to provide securities before delivery of cargo.
