The vessel PURPLE BEACH a 1998 built 23,401gt General Cargo carrier with Container capacity, was reported on fire on route from Immingham, UK to Brake, Germany.

The crew abandoned the vessel whilst firefighting efforts were undertaken by tugs and fire experts. Injured crew members were treated by fire rescue from Bremerhaven.

The vessel was on a voyage from Europe to New Orleans and U.S. ports.

General Average has been declared and it is our understanding that the salvage services will be incorporated in the GA claim.
