Further to our initial report in relation to the above captioned incident it has been reported that the Owners and Operators of the DALI, have filed a petition in the Federal Court of Maryland to limit their liability for claims arising from the allision with the Francis Scott Key Bridge to US$43.7m, being the estimated value of the DALI after Salvage and repair costs.

Casualty Update – Ever Forward – Grounding

Incident Date: 14^th March 2022

Vessel: EVER FORWARD

IMO No. 9850551

Type: Fully Cellular Containership

Incident: Grounding

Further to our initial advice regarding the grounding of the EVER FORWARD, a Hong Kong flag, 112,836gt, 2020 built, fully cellular containership EVER FORWARD which ran aground off the coast of Gibson Island in Chesapeake Bay, we can advise that an initial attempt to free the vessel was undertaken 29^th March 2022.

Despite weeks of dredging and 6 powerful tugs being present, the attempt to refloat the vessel was unsuccessful. We understand that a further attempt is scheduled for 3^rd/4^th April.

Whilst professional Salvors have not been employed under an LOF contract, there remains a strong likelihood that General Average will be declared and that GA securities will be required required before cargo can be delivered.
