W.E. Cox have learnt of an incident involving the ONE HENRY HUDSON, a Panama flag, 98,747GT fully cellular containership which experienced an electrical fire below deck, followed by an explosion mid-deck during cargo operations at Los Angeles on 21st November 2025.
The ONE HENRY HUDSON, which has a capacity of 8,212teu is owned by FJ Lines Incorporated in Panama and is operated by ONE on their FP1 service between Europe, Singapore, Japan and the USA.
It is understood that all 23 crew members have been evacuated and that fire-fighting operations continue, with the fire having impacted multiple containers on the ONE HENRY HUDSON.
Investigations into the cause of the fire have commenced however, it is likely cargo deliveries will be delayed, with some cargoes known to have been damaged. The situation may also give rise to General Average that will require Cargo interests to provide General Average Security prior to cargo being released at destination.
