We have learned of an incident involving the vessel ONE HAMMERSMITH, a Panama flag, 98,747gt, 2009 built, full cellular containership which suffered engine failure North West of Ushant Island, France. Professional Salvors have been contracted under LOF terms who have taken the Vessel under tow.

W.E. Cox have been appointed by cargo interests in relation to an incident involving the vessel X-PRESS PYXIS, a Singapore Flag fully cellular containership, which reported a failure of its stern tube system whilst transiting from Busan, South Korea to Yokohama, Japan 29th August 2024.

New Casualty – YM Mobility – Explosion 9 August 2024

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel YM Mobility, a Liberia flag, 76787 gt, 2011 built, fully cellular containership, which suffered an explosion at a container terminal in the Beilun port area of Zhoushan port. The Ningbo Maritime Search and Rescue Center has started an emergency plan and assigned patrol boats to the scene. Three fire tugboats and shore-based fire department forces are also deployed.

Casualty Report – MAERSK FRANKFURT – Fire (Update) 29 July 2024

The vessel reportedly has both power and propulsion and is being kept at a distance of more than 24 nautical miles at all times. The Indian Coast Guard (“ICG”) is maintaining physical presence at site with at least two offshore patrol vessels engaged in firefighting.
