MORNING CLAIRE

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel “MORNING CLAIRE”, a 2012 built 60,825gt vehicle carrier. Having previously called at Japan and South Korea as well as various west coast terminals in South American terminals the vessel ran aground during berthing maneuvers in Acajutla, El Salvador.

It is reported the vessel ran aground after going out of limit combined with a low tide. Despite ballasting efforts, the port pilot failed to refloat the vessel. As of 16:00 gmt the vessel remained aground whilst authorities attempted to located a more powerful tug to assist with refloating efforts.
