SANTA ROSA

We refer to our Casualty Advice dated 1st October, advising of an incident involving the vessel SANTA ROSA, a Singapore flag, 1992 built, 21,053gt fully cellular containership, on a voyage from Jebel Ali to Karachi.

On 16th September 2014, SANTA ROSA ran aground in the Arabian Gulf. Initial attempts to refloat the vessel were unsuccessful. Shipowners therefore appointed Al Mubarak Overseas LLC as Salvors under a Lloyds Open Form (LOF 2011) Salvage contract. SANTA ROSA was refloated by Salvors on 16th October 2014. The vessel is due for redelivery to Shipowners at anchorage off Dubai.

Security is required by Salvors in the amount of 40% of the CIF value of cargo and containers in UAE Dirhams (AED), which is the agreed currency of the Arbitration award and security.
