SITEAM ANJA

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel SITEAM ANJA, a Marshall Islands flag, 1997 built, 28,027gt combined chemical & oil tanker, on a voyage from San Lorenzo to Rio Grande, having also called at Nueva Palmira.

It is reported that SITEAM ANJA ran aground near Isla de Lobos, off Punta del Este, following engine failure as result of cooling system problems. It is not yet known whether GA will be declared but it is reported that Salvage services are being undertaken by T&T Bisso under Lloyd’s Open Form, since the vessel remains aground pending probable lightering operations.
