SEALAND METEOR

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel SEALAND METEOR, a Hong Kong flag, 1996 built, 49,985gt fully cellular containership, on a voyage from USA ports to Antwerp, having called at Rotterdam prior to the casualty.

It is reported that SEALAND METEOR ran aground near Flushing on the River Scheldt. Salvage operations were undertaken by Multraship Towage and URS under Lloyd’s Open Form signed on 31st March and the vessel was refloated on the same day.

Salvage security was provided by Maersk Line AS on behalf of all salved properties and General Average has now been declared.
