Further to our initial advice regarding a fire on board the EVER LENIENT, a U.K. Flag, 99,995GT, 334.8m, 9,226TEU, 2014 fully cellular containership, we now understand that General Average (GA) has been declared and Sedgwick International (Sedgwick Global Marine Specialty) have been appointed to collect GA security.

W.E. Cox are following an incident involving the EVER LENIENT, a U.K. Flag, 99,995GT, 334.8m, 9,226TEU, 2014 fully cellular containership, which suffered a fire involving containers on board whilst berthed at PSA Pasir Panjang Terminal, Singapore on 10th April 2026 during the afternoon.

New Casualty – QINGDAO STAR – Missile Strike 9 April 2026
W.E. Cox have learned of an incident involving the QINGDAO STAR, a Marshall Islands Flag, 39,906GT, 260.62m, 4,253TEU, 2006 fully cellular containership, which was struck by a missile about 25nm south of Iran’s Kish Island on 7th April 2026, after sailing from Jebel Ali, UAE. The vessel remains operational and will call at the next port, Jubail Ali, Saudi Arabia, for inspection.
