We have received notification of an incident on 15 July 2018 in the Suez Canal involving the above mentioned five vessels.

Fully cellular containership AENEAS experienced engine trouble whilst transiting the Suez Canal and had to be stopped at the entrance of the Suez. Three vessels, bulk carrier Sakizaya Kalon, bulk carrier Osios David and bulk carrier Panamax Alexander, that were in the southbound convoy, could not stop in time and came in contact with each other. As a result, the vessels sustained damages to their hull. Subsequently, Sakizaya Kalon and Osios David were tugged aside to allow the northbound convoy to pass, while Panamax Alexander remained in her position. Later, fully cellular containership NYK Orpheus came in contact with Panamax Alexander, as a result of which, both vessels sustained damages.
