New Casualty – QINGDAO STAR – Missile Strike 9 April 2026

W.E. Cox have learned of an incident involving the QINGDAO STAR, a Marshall Islands Flag, 39,906GT, 260.62m, 4,253TEU, 2006 fully cellular containership, which was struck by a missile about 25nm south of Iran’s Kish Island on 7th April 2026, after sailing from Jebel Ali, UAE. The vessel remains operational and will call at the next port, Jubail Ali, Saudi Arabia, for inspection.

W.E. Cox have been appointed by Cargo interests following an incident involving the AMALIA, a Malta flag, 22,223GT, 180m, bulk carrier vessel. The AMALIA suffered a fire on top of cargo hold no. 3 on 19th December 2025 whilst sailing from Houston, USA to Walvis Bay, Namibia.

The W KYRENIA suffered a blackout and/or damage to her emergency generator near Hong Kong on 4th December 2025 whilst sailing from various ports in Asia to Brazil, South America.

New Casualty – ONE CONTINUITY – Loss of Stowed Containers 11 December 2025

W.E. Cox have learnt of an incident involving the ONE CONTINUITY, a Singapore flag, 88,089GT, 9,362TEU fully cellular containership vessel. The ONE CONTINUITY was sailing from Le Havre, France to Singapore when 45 empty containers fell overboard whilst transiting the Bay of Biscay during rough sea conditions on 6th December 2025.
