Cox have learned of an incident involving the QINGDAO STAR, a Marshall Islands Flag, 39,906GT, 260.62m, 4,253TEU, 2006 fully cellular containership, which was struck by a missile about 25nm south of Iran’s Kish Island on 7th April 2026, after sailing from Jebel Ali, UAE. The vessel remains operational and will call at the next port, Jubail Ali, Saudi Arabia, for inspection.

W.E. Cox have learned of an incident involving the XIN TAI YUAN, a Panama Flag, 39,713GT, 224.88m, 2001 built bulk carrier, which suffered a rudder failure and grounded whilst transiting the Suez Canal, Egypt on 2nd April 2026, whilst enroute from Denmark to Singapore.

Cox have learned of an incident involving the ZEAL LUMOS, a UK Flag, 149,525GT, 366m, 2021 built fully cellular containership, which came into contact with the vessel HAIAN OPUS, a Panama flag, 18,852GT, 171.90m, 2024 built fully cellular containership, while berthed at Kaohsiung Port, Taiwan.

W.E. Cox have learned of an incident involving the IONIKOS, a Liberian flag, 40,560GT, 259.80m, fully cellular containership. We understand that the IONIKOS was hit by high waves on or around 25th February 2026 whilst sailing from Casablanca, Morocco to Spain.

W.E. Cox have learned of an incident involving the SEALLOYD ARC, a Panamanian Flag, 4,339GT, 115m, general cargo vessel, which capsized and sank near Phuket, Thailand on 7th February 2026 after severe water ingress whilst sailing from Port Klang, Malaysia.

W.E. Cox have been appointed by Cargo interests following an incident involving the AMALIA, a Malta flag, 22,223GT, 180m, bulk carrier vessel. The AMALIA suffered a fire on top of cargo hold no. 3 on 19th December 2025 whilst sailing from Houston, USA to Walvis Bay, Namibia.

W.E. Cox have been appointed by Cargo interests following an incident involving the W KYRENIA, a Marshall Islands flag, 80,609GT, 6,802TEU, fully cellular containership vessel. The W KYRENIA suffered a blackout and/or damage to her emergency generator near Hong Kong on 4th December 2025 whilst sailing from various ports in Asia to Brazil, South America.

W.E. Cox have learnt of an incident involving the CELLUS, a German flag, 4,231GT, 369TEU, general cargo with container capacity vessel. The CELLUS was sailing from Brunsbüttel, Germany to Sunderland, United Kingdom when she ran aground in the port of Sunderland on 19th December 2025.

W.E. Cox have learnt of an incident involving the ONE CONTINUITY, a Singapore flag, 88,089GT, 9,362TEU fully cellular containership vessel. The ONE CONTINUITY was sailing from Le Havre, France to Singapore when 45 empty containers fell overboard whilst transiting the Bay of Biscay during rough sea conditions on 6th December 2025.
