We have learned of an incident involving the vessel MSC Capetown III, a Portugal flag, 28911 gt, 2006 built, fully cellular containership, which experienced a fire at JCT 4 Jetty in Colombo, Sri Lanka on 11 August 2024

W.E. Cox have been appointed by cargo interests in relation to an incident involving the vessel CMA CGM BELEM, a Malta Flag containership, which reported collapse of stow with loss of at least 99 containers off the coast of South Africa 18th August 2024

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel YM Mobility, a Liberia flag, 76787 gt, 2011 built, fully cellular containership, which suffered an explosion at a container terminal in the Beilun port area of Zhoushan port. The Ningbo Maritime Search and Rescue Center has started an emergency plan and assigned patrol boats to the scene. Three fire tugboats and shore-based fire department forces are also deployed.

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel GROTON, a Liberia flag, 27322 gt, 2002 built, fully cellular containership, which was hit by a missile 12 nautical miles east of Yemen’s port of Aden on 3 August 2024.

The vessel reportedly has both power and propulsion and is being kept at a distance of more than 24 nautical miles at all times. The Indian Coast Guard (“ICG”) is maintaining physical presence at site with at least two offshore patrol vessels engaged in firefighting.

The vessel was reportedly ‘stable’ this morning with four Indian coastguard vessels – Sachet, Sujeet, Samrat and Varaha – fighting the fire.

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel MAERSK FRANKFURT, a Panama Flag containership, which reported a fire 19th July 2024.

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel CMA CGM BENJAMIN FRANKLIN, a Malta flag, 179922 gt, 2015 built, fully cellular containership which reportedly lost 44 containers at sea off the coast of South Africa while another 30 containers are reportedly damaged.

Further to our earlier reports in relation to the above captioned incident, we can now advise that DALI is scheduled to depart for Norfolk Va on/about 18th June to undergo repairs, and that sound/unaffected containers will be discharged in Norfolk before the repair process commences

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel NORTHERN JUVENILE, a Portugal flag, 94419 gt, 2009 built, containership which reportedly caught fire on the 26th of May about 100 nautical miles southwest of Bande Aceh, Indonesia
