New Casualty – EVER FEAT – Collapse of Stowed Containers 4 August 2025

W.E. Cox have been appointed by Cargo interests in an incident involving the EVER FEAT, a Liberia flag, 116,295GT, 11,850TEU fully cellular containership vessel. The EVER FEAT was sailing from Navegantes, Brazil to Montevideo, Uruguay when she was exposed to severe wind and high waves off Rio Grande, Brazil on 28th July 2025 resulting in collapse and/or damage of about 30 to 40 containers.

New Casualty – PUMBA – ENGINE ROOM FIRE 30 July 2025

W.E. Cox have learnt of an incident involving the PUMBA, a Liberian flag, 54,214GT, 5,060TEU fully cellular containership vessel. The PUMBA was enroute from Port Said Roads, Egypt to Qingdao, China when a fire broke out in her engine room about 8nm off Ras Ghareb, Egypt on 29th July 2025 whilst sailing near an offshore oil platform.

Further to our initial notice concerning a fire onboard the MORNING MIDAS, we understand that she has capsized and sank on 24 June 2025 in international waters in the North Pacific during Salvage towing operations by Resolve Marine.

W.E. Cox have learned of an incident involving the PHOENIX 15, a Comoros Flag vessel, 4,742GT, 118m, 346TEU, fully cellular containership, which had a crew of 20 members and sank about 20nm off the coast of Salalah, Oman whilst sailing from Jebel Ali, UAE to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Casualty Update – WAN HAI 503 – Fire 24 June 2025

W.E. Cox have been appointed by Cargo interests and our investigation to date reveals that the owners of the WAN HAI 503 have engaged professional Salvors (T&T Salvage) on LOF terms (with SCOPIC) and that the Salvage services are ongoing. We understand that Singapore, Jebel Ali (UAE) and Hambantota (Sri Lanka) may be potential ports of refuge for the vessel.

W.E. Cox have learned of an incident involving the MORNING MIDAS, a Liberian Flag vessel, 46,800GT, 183m, vehicle carrier, which reported a fire on 3 June 2025 whilst sailing from Yantai, China to Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico and laden with 3,000 vehicles, of which, 800 are electric.

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel MSC ELSA 3 a Liberia flag, 16,799gt, 1997 built, fully cellular containership, which has capsized and developed a 26-degree list approximately 38 nautical miles off the coast of Kochi, India.
