Further to our previous updates regarding the grounding of the EVER FORWARD, a Hong Kong flag, 112,836gt, 2020 built, fully cellular containership which ran aground off the coast of Gibson Island in Chesapeake Bay, we can advise that following Owners declaration of General Average, it has now been determined by Salvors that the Vessel will need to be lightered before further re-floating attempts can be undertaken.

The vessel was believed to be carrying up to 4,000 vehicles, including brand new Porsche and VW cars, when she caught fire whilst en-route from Germany to the USA.
The 22 crew have been safely rescued and the vessel is now drifting whilst vessel owners and professional Salvors try and save the vessel.

Further to our previous advices in relation to the loss of containers and fire on board the 2008 built, 40,030gt fully cellular containership ZIM KINGSTON it has been confirmed that Vessel is scheduled to arrive at Duke Point Terminal Nanaimo on Friday 10th December where damaged containers will be discharged.
